I find this religion fascinating personally, and have even considered converting. I am curious though, as to what other's particular religions think about this religion? Does that make sense? lol. Like what does your particular denomination of christianity (or whatever other religion, christianity seems to be the most popular here) say/think about Judiasm? Does your particular religion think that Jews will "burn in hell" for not believing that Jesus was the savior? I'm just curious, and I know this is controversial, but let's be intelligent adults here...
ah but see, not ALL are like that...a majority, yes, but not all. I've talked to several Jews about this, and their view is that if I am willing to put in the time and dedication it takes to convert, then I am Jew enough for them! However, if this does ever happen, it won't be until a long time from now...
anyways, how about the regular posters in this part of the board...Rayna? Rose? have any answers?
And judiasm doesnt' believe in heaven, hell or satan. They dont' believe that G-d is mean and bad and vengeful like christians do. they believe that G-d put you here on this earth and you work with what you where dealt. G-d doesn't 'answer prayers' etc. Jews don't pray to have their son healed if he is sick, for example.
And GW, why does it matter what other religions think of the jewish religion unless it's just pure curiosity. You have to believe what you feel is comfortable. I, myself, can't imagine that G-d thinks that one religion is better than another and will smite people or will go to hell if they don't 'believe'. I think it is extremely condescending for people to believe their religion is the only 'true' religion and anyone else that doesnt' happen to believe a human is a G-d (which btw goes against the 10 commandments)will not be 'saved' or whatever they think. That is just disgusting to me. NO religion is better than another. They can believe what they want, but leave me alone.
It is presciely that Carla, curiousity. I never have once said that one religion is better than the other. I think that all will have their reward in the afterlife, if they have been good in this life.
I find it fascinating that other religions can have such strong feelings about other religions, comdemning them to hell or whatever, even though they are doing nothing wrong, just worshiping. Christianity, in my mind, is very very warped, I've had several bad experiences with christians over religion, not any other religion, just christians. So I was curious what exactly do they think about a religion that is so close to their own. Notice how none of them have given me a straight answer...
I'll give you a straight answer. Jesus was Jewish. The apostles were Jewish. I think Judiasm is a beautiful religion. The customs, the way of life - just beautiful. I guess what keeps me from being Jewish is that I believe that God gave us Jesus to save us from our sins, He died for us, and rose again three days later. Most Jewish people - although there are some - don't believe that Jesus was the Savior that they are still waiting for. They believe that He was a good man, a good prophet and rabbi, but not the Son of God. This is where the Jewish religion and I part company. Now, as a Christian, I believe what the Bible says, we need to confess Jesus is Lord. Will all Jewish people go to hell because they don't believe Jesus is Lord? I don't know, maybe God will tell them at the moment of death that He is, and maybe they will have a second chance. I would be inclined to believe that it won't happen that way, but then again, I'm not God, so I don't know. I just go by what the Bible says.

see, christianity preaches that judiasm is waiting for another savior...but they aren't, theyre waiting for a ...umm...crud can't think of the word right now, too late....but he's going to be a political leader, and fight for them, and regain the holy land, not save them from their sins....they never did believe someone was going to save them from their sins, so since jesus was jewish, neither did he...

The jews think there might be a messiah coming. That is the word you where thinking of I believe.
Jews dont' believe they can be 'saved' from sin, nor need to be. Jews don't believe in a nasty spiteful god that smites people. They believe he knows humans have frailties and deals with it. There is no heaven or hell in the jewish religion.

Jews don't believe in hell. And do you really think god chooses one religion over another? That he doesn't think they are worthy because they aren't christians?
"Messiah Anglicization of the Hebrew, "moshiach" (annointed). A man who will be chosen by G-d to put an end to all evil in the world, rebuild the Temple, bring the exiles back to Israel and usher in the world to come. It is better to use the Hebrew term "moshiach" when speaking of the Jewish messiah, because the Jewish concept is very different from the Christian one."

Frankly, I don't believe God believes in ANY religion. Religion is a man-made term, made to make US feel superior and good. I do believe that God finds ALL of us worthy - He sent his only Son to die for our sins. Yes, I think He finds all of us worthy.

Translation of what? the new testament? I do not believe in the new testament, but only the old testament.
Please realize there are different religions than yours. Not all use the same bible.

Really? Then how do you believe that those that don't believe the way you do look like less in G-ds eye? That is what you are taught. I don't think that religion was meant to make us feel superior. We should be nice, NOT wish ill will on people and be superior. Doesn't that violate one of the 10 commandments?
And I do not believe he sent 'his son'. That also goes against the 10 commandments. Though shall not have any other gods before me. That is how jews interpret that.
