Star/Rose, why would you post that stupid website? If you're trying to refer to Educator's post, I don't believe it was his intention to date a Mormon.
Your church, from the beginning has promoted polygamy. THAT'S why he (TomTom) said, "Thou shalt not commit adultery."
Showing this website further proves how screwed up your church is. Married forever? Yah, right. Now, what was it that Jesus said about marriage in heaven? Not what your church says. Joseph Smith is burning in hell's fire right now, and your "true" church is following right behind.
Tom Tom, Have you seen this site? I'm sure it's nothing you didn't already know, but I just find it intriguing, and can't believe that anyone in this cult, after reading this entire page, would still continue in this. http://www.helpingmormons.org/occult_symbols.htm
Ok guess I better come on over here and see what's in the fire, lol.
Denise, what's the matter with you? I don't recall ever discussing my religion with this forum. You will never see me get into a debate on my religion, so think again.
Secondly I'm beginning to think YOU have some real issues with the LDS religion. Are you a former Mormon? This is my understanding. You are no longer a member now and so being disgruntled you feel it your duty to attack and lash out anyone who even remotely resembles a Mormon?
Like I said.......many times......Anyone who will attack ANY religion, whether it be Mormon, Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Jehovah's Witnesses, or any of the organized, and un organized religions, has serious issues. ALL religions have good and truth in them. ALL religions, Christian, and even some that aren't, are stepping stones to God.
Denise you profess to be a Christian, but look at the hate in your posts. Is this what you teach your children, to hate? By the way, when I am talking to YOU Denise, I am talking to Lhasa Lady, because you two are the same person, different usernames is all.
Your not offending ME by all this nonsense you are posting. Again, I will defend the Mormons as quickly as I will defend the Catholics or any other religion who puts God at the center of their religion. It's a fact. So carry on girl. It's the Lord you are offending. Think about that. You certainly have no tolerance or respect for anyone who does not worship according to your dictates.
And furthermore, the Mormons do not practice Polygamy anymore. Haven't you heard? But of course you have because you are an X- Mormon. When they did practice polygamy, there were only about 3 % of the men who had plural wives. You had to be able to afford a second wife and family before you could have one. Leaving no time at all for "fun and games."
Get online and post some real links that give the facts. Fact is there are several branches of the LDS church that broke away when Polygamy was banned. They got x-communicated for continuing to practice plural marriage. They are still thriving all over the United States and they still call themselves Mormons, only they aren't.
Another fact: There is the original Mormon Church and The Reorganized Mormon Church, two entirely different organizations. But you already know that because you are a former Mormon who just seems to have a bone to pick.
See........I do know a bit about the Mormons, now don't I? I clicked on the link to the Church Headquarters and there is enough info there to keep a person occupied for hours! In fact I think I'll head that direction for a few minutes.........I have a question I would like answered over there.
denise...about the 'occult' symbols...pagan symbols are on everything...hell look at the dollar bills you spend every day...just because something has pagan symbols doesn't automatically make it evil denise...

But Money "is the root of all evil". Correct? Too many people worship money because power comes with it.JMHO

Sorry to disappoint you, Rose, but I was raised a Catholic, and being disappointed and in disagreement with that, now attend a non-denominational Christian church. You have a very bad habit of making comments as if they are facts, when in fact, you've blown them out of your butt, and have no clue about what you're talking about, but most that know you on this board, are quite used to that, and don't believe anything you say anyway, so whatever.
Unlike you and your relatives, I (and MY relatives) have self esteem, and am not easily sucked into cults. I have never set foot into a demon possessed temple of latter day "saints" (using that word lightly) in my life, and never intend to. YUCK.
quote: You will never see me get into a debate on my religion, so think again.
This comment is pretty hilarious---seems to me that the entire rest of your post is exactly what you said that it would never be. A debate. Good one, idiot.
quote: By the way, when I am talking to YOU Denise, I am talking to Lhasa Lady, because you two are the same person
And if you are talking to Denise, you are in fact, talking to DENISE, not anyone else that the little voices in your head are whispering to you. You have never and will never PROVE that I am anyone other than who I say I am, because unlike you, I have nothing to hide. I am simply, Denise. So, put up or shut up.
You certainly seem to know about the Mormon church. You have so little respect on this forum, Rose, that you're afraid that admitting that you've been sucked into the lies that your church tells you daily through word and reading, that you'll have NO respect on this board. You're right, but aside from that, rest assured, no one respects you, so get over yourself.
quote: And furthermore, the Mormons do not practice Polygamy anymore
You know as well as I do that while still illegal, the mormons DO practice polygamy. Your people think they're above the law. Got news for you. You're not.
Mormons, by the way, while you may BELIEVE that you put God at the center of your religion, DON'T. If that is true--want to show me in ALL the pictures of your little temples, an actual CROSS inside there somewhere?! The cross is a universal symbol of Christianity, right? You can't, because your temples are so filled with occult symbols that there's no room for Christ. So why call yourselves Christians? Why not state it like it is? You're glorified Freemasons.
All of the proof about you, your religion, and your family have been posted on this board, so you might as well stop denying your identity and mormonism, we all know the truth.
If you would like to continue on this thread, I'll be more than happy to gather ALL of the information in ONE place for ALL to see. Including your home phone number, your address, your full name, your mother's full name, your father's full name, your sister and brother's full names, AND your family church's name.
The only thing I want to say is Rose, Denise is NOT LL. She called me when my son was hurt by his teacher and on my caller ID it said Denise last name which I won't post and her number. The area code is in a totally different state than LL. So Rose you are not right saying she's LL.
Denise thanks again for calling that day. I was more upset than I've ever been and you calmed me down. Only another mom can understand the devastation you feel when someone hurts your baby. You're awesome Hun!
alright denise....i'm sorry, but you're stepping out of line here...
Mormons are just as much of a 'cult' as any other religion...you believe that someone is divine just because someone else said so...lay off the mormons, because to me it's all the same crock of ****...
you're religion can't even translate things right, try finding out what the true meaning of virgin is...and try finding out who REALLY wrote the bible...
stop w/ the occult symbol degredation...do you even know what the definition of occult is?
according to webster:
"matters regarded as involving the action or influence of supernatural or supernormal powers or some secret knowledge of them"...by very definition, you're crucifix is an 'occult' symbol...
"You're glorified Freemasons."
Denise, do NOT drag the freemasons into this...they had it more right than all you damn modern day christians put together...
now don't get me wrong, i am NOT defending Rose...but you are the ONLY one Denise harping on about the mormons...its childish, grow up...
"1 : formal religious veneration : WORSHIP 2 : a system of religious beliefs and ritual; also : its body of adherents 3 : a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also : its body of adherents 4 : a system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its promulgator 5 a : great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book); especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or intellectual fad b : a usually small group of people characterized by such devotion"
notice the FIRST definition says FORMAL RELIGIOUS VENERATION!!! so according to webster, all relgion is a CULT!!!
quote: because to me it's all the same crock of ****...
I'm confused, if it all matters so little to you, why do you keep responding?
quote: try finding out who REALLY wrote the bible...
I already KNOW who wrote and translated the Bible. If you want to debate who WROTE the Bible, rest assured, we will never come to an agreement about that.
quote:Bible: History of the KJV? .The King James Version of the Bible, released in 1611, was authorized by King James in order to have as accurate a translation as possible, which could be printed and widely circulated. The original Old Testament writings were in Hebrew and the New Testament in Greek. Jerome (5th century) translated the Bible into Latin, called the Vulgate, which has become the official Roman Catholic Bible. The Council of Trent in 1546 met to consider doctrines and published a list of books, which were to be considered canonical, that is, to be included in the Bible. This list included the 39 books of the Old Testament, plus 7 Apochraphal books, plus the New Testament 27. The Jews, however, do not accept the 7 Apochrapha as canonical. The Jewish Bible is limited to the Old Testament, called the Septuagint, which is said to have been translated by 72 Jewish Scholars in 72 days.
Since the Bible was hand written in the centuries prior to the invention of the printing press, few copies were available. The Latin translation (Vulgate) was the most common. Reformers such as Luther and Tyndale translated portions of the Latin Bible into the common language of the people; Luther into German and Tyndale into English. Wycliffe translated the Bible into the English language in about 1400 AD. While Luther was opening a closed Bible to the people of Germany, Tyndale was impelled by the Spirit of God to do the same for England. Wycliffe's Bible had been translated from the Latin text, which contained many errors. It had never been printed, and the cost of manuscript copies was so great that few but wealthy men or nobles could procure it. Furthermore, being strictly proscribed by the church, it had had a comparatively narrow circulation.
In 1516, a year before the appearance of Luther's theses, Erasmus had published his Greek and Latin version of the New Testament. Now for the first time the word of God was printed in the original tongue. In this work many errors of former versions were corrected, and the sense was more clearly rendered. It led many among the educated classes to a better knowledge of the truth, and gave a new impetus to the work of reform. But the common people were still, to a great extent, kept from God's word. Tyndale was to complete the work of Wycliffe in giving the Bible to his countrymen. Since the discovery of the "Dead Sea Scrolls" the accuracy of the Bible has been verified. In more recent years many translations of the Bible have been done. Several translations available at Gateway Bible, on Bibleinfo.com Resource page, make it easy to find verses and compare different versions at the same time. You can also access this website by going to http://bible.gospelcom.net.

Care to show me a plain, undecorated, non-inverted cross on ANY occult website, or in any Mormon temple? Can't.

I found this in regards to freemasons---they have this right, in your opinion?

quote: but you are the ONLY one Denise harping on about the mormons..
i keep replying because its absolutely immature and childish denise...has anyone else joined in on your mormon bashing? no.
who cares if she's a mormon? if she were catholic, would you try to destroy catholicism too? should I bring up all the faults in your religion too denise? it's absolutely ridiculous for you to stand there as a CHRISTIAN and try to tell everyone that your religion is better than the mormons, because IT'S NOT! would god or your supposedly divine jesus want you to be acting like this? no, they woulnd't.
when i said learn who wrote the bible, i meant back to about 200 ad, not the kjv...the kjv isn't the only bible...jesus wasn't even his real name for starters...
and yes, your cross is a symbol...any symbol can be percieved as occult, ESPECIALLY if it's representing a supernatural or supernormal being, in this case, jesus of nazareth...and since when is occult a bad thing? only to the ignorant...
what about you're xmess tree that's sitting in your living room right now? that is a PAGAN tradition...shall we all rip on you for that now?
like i said, you're religion is FAR from perfect, and it sickens me to see you acting so superior to Rose for her religion...do it for taking better care of your animals, do it for being a decent human being, but not over religion...you say you want to show the board how Rose is not a Christian, well from what I can see Denise, neither are you...you've told her often how she's turned people away from christianity, and right now denise you are the prime example of why i can't STAND christianity...
you know, on all other forums I love you to death, but this is just getting ridiculous...
...oh, and to the freemasons comment...i was referring to the beginning movement, they have their history right...don't know what that is about the african american thing...but if that's all you've got about the freemasons, the same can be said of just about any religion, there's always exculsion...
I'm going to have to agree with Denise on this one. I've known several mormons families even been to their church and I have to say they are quite strange in their beliefs even scary. It does resemble a cult. If one does not tote the mark you are excommunicated by the very people who were once your family. Not a very forgiving religion considering people are in now way perfect.
The Christian religion is based on God's word and God's word only and I'm not going catholic there. The bible was written by God's inspiration. It's letters written and compiled together by timeline. 2/3rd's of it was letters wrote to churches by a man who one prosecuted Christians. Jesus showed Paul the light and from then on devoted his life to Him. Paul even died for what he believed as did the disciples. You have to remember that these once followers of Christ ran like cowards when the Pharisees too Jesus. After His rising they were preaching in the streets and died for believing in Him. Why in the world would so many die horrible deaths for something that was not true? The bible is a true as it gets. Why would so many letters written by many different people from different places all tie together? Because they are authentic and true. The bible is the most popular and most sold book of all times. Why would that be if it was bunk. There is never going to be a solid amount of proof to make all believe there was always be something to counter it. If it was easy to prove to all there would be no need for Faith.
Pdjenn, I'm going to have to step in and say you are way off base here. The Mormons do not have a book that "counters" the Bible. They have a book called "The Book Of Mormon" that compliments the Bible. It is "Another Testament of Jesus Christ."
There is also nothing strange or bizarre about their church services either. Visitors are welcome and made to feel at home. They are good Christian people and their life is centered around Jesus Christ.
There are hundreds of links by X Mormons that contain nothing but lies and myths. If you want to know the truth go to the Mormon church website. If you want to know even more, call or e-mail the representatives of the Mormon (LDS)church.
You need to click on the Mormon church link and read up. Here is the link. I have been on their several times. It is very informative. There is also a video/audio archive of talks given by the authorites in the church.
