I think it's worse because the govt wants to take "GOD" out of everything. No prayer in schools, take "in god we trust" off the money, etc. I'd say, definitely worse!

Is there a way to delete a message on here?
I should not have shared my feelings in the above post and I would like to delete it. I have found out that it isn't a good idea to share things on this particular forum. Can anyone tell me how to do this please?

Angelina, you can't delete it anymore. You have to delete it in an hour or under after you post. But to do this, click the pencil eraser in the bottom right of YOUR posts, and then down at post now in the new window, it should say 'delete post?' click that. Wink But, I don't think all the 'in god we trust' stuff should be on anything. This whole country was based on religious freedom, so it shouldn't have all the 'god' stuff everywhere, because that's just making it biased in a way. Would you like it if EVERYTHING had in Buddah we trust? Or in Satan we trust? I have no problem with personal worship, but when the whole country gets dragged into it, then it's a problem. I personally don't say the pledge of allegience. One, I think it's stupid, because, just because I say the stupid thing doesn't mean I'm going to stay american or whatever, but, also, if I don't say it, doesn't mean I'm going to turn into a terrorist! And two, it doesn't go with my religion, and I don't think we should be 'forced' to say it. (Some teachers will actually yell at you if you don't say it.)

I am sorry but I think they have taken out to much of GOD in school, courts .I think if you do not wanna pray to God .or swear a oath to God. then that is your choice .but I think just becuse one feels that way why should I or whom ever have to be force to not be able to pray ..if a person does not believe in God when it comes to prayer time pray to whom ever you do believe in. or just sit silent.

To be or not to be. that is the true question

Angelina,
don't worry about people on here. If you want to post your feelings/views/opinions, then go ahead. there is always someone who will have something to say about it, good or bad or indifferent. Don't let anyone influence you on what you feel like sharing. We are all anonymous people here pretty much.
Just because opinions differ, doesn't mean either of them are wrong. Wink

The basis of this country being founded under religious freedom means that we are free to worship GOD in whatever way we please. That is what our founding fathers meant by that statement. However no one is forced to worship God at all. But if we choose to believe in and worship God
( which I do) then we are free to choose our house of worship, or religious organization we wish to belong too. That is religious freedom.

America has prospered because we have remembered God. If America continues to try to deny God, we will not prosper. We have the best military there is on the earth. That will not remain so if we do not turn our hearts back to God.

Look rose, I didn't say that religion was a 'bad' thing. I never said anyone wasn't allowed to, BUT, I am saying that other people (that don't believe in god) shouldn't have it smooshed in their faces everywhere they turn. Honestly, it is very much so like making you read satan stuff everywhere you turn! I know you don't like that, so now you know how I feel, and how a lot of other people feel. We don't want it pushed upon us, and it's not this FREE nation's job, nor your's or anyone else's to push it on us!

I'm not saying you people shouldn't be able to pray, you shouldn't be forced to do (or not do) anything, BUT, I also believe that people with other beliefs shouldn't have to be forced to do something. If American money doesn't say in god we trust, that doesn't stop you from praying, that doesn't stop you from believing, it just stops the ramming it down other people's throats. Same thing with the pledge. It doesn't have to say under god for you to still be able to pray and do what you want to do, but it gives people like me as much freedom as you have.

Having In God We Trust on American currency is ramming religion down ones throat? I think not. You need to understand that it's not the Christian's who need to tip toe around the non believers. It's the other way around. If the non believers don't want to believe in or worship God, then as another member has also said, they can just turn their head, or be silent when the pledge of allegiance or a prayer is being given....... But leave the rest of us alone and let us worship.

We Christians leave the non believers alone. You don't turn on the evening news and hear how the non believers are being persecuted do you? Yet everytime you turn on the TV set the non believers are seeking to take away the rights of the Christians! America is one nation, under God. It's because of God's mercy that we are all privledged to live in America. We are blessed to live on this part of the earth and are given the freedom to worship GOD how and where we choose.

I will stand proudly and sing the Pledge of Allegiance. I will bow my head and worship God. I'm proud to be an American, and I love and worship God who is my creator, who gave me life, and allowed me to be born in the "land of the free and home of the brave."

Tell us, what is your opinion about the state of the world currently? (Spiritually Speaking) Do you feel that it can get much worse before the Second Coming of Christ? Or are we finally there? At the lowest we have ever been? Frown

Hi Suzanne,
Welcome. How did you make your name like that?
I've been wanting to get a name of my own but I think LJ has flown the coop. Can you help?
