Maybe...Life would certainly be simpler, wouldn't it. There would be no question of what is right or wrong or which Bible we should or should not believe in. But then you would have the people who wouldn't believe that God commanded Moses to write those ten commandments and a whole new slew of arguements would incur.
Ahh, but without the NT, how would we learn about the Savior, who sent us the H.S., who, in turn, helps us stick to those 10 laws? That would be sorely missed, don't you agree, TT?
Life just wouldn't be the same without the Son and Holy Spirit.
Not to mention missing out on all of those prophesies. And examples of human courage, such as King David, Esther, Job, Peter, Paul, etc. Personally, I like knowing that someone else went through something similar that I might be going through at any given time.
Truth be told, if He would have sent one sheet of paper, I probably would take it for granted.
quote: This is all the laws GOD gave us to live by. I think it covers everything with just these ten rules of his.
Not to start an argument TT, but when Jesus came and died for his he now became the law and the ten commandents were no more. Not to say we dont live by them cause we do but he condensed all the laws into two. 1. Love Jehovah your God with your whole heart, mind, body and strength. 2. You must love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandement greater than these. If we live by these two laws alone all the problems of the world would be solved. Do you agree? Or what do you think?
Ahhh BUT he was Jewish and lived by the big 10. Are we to do less? Is he not our example? Are we not to try and follow in his footsteps? Even down to the 7th day being Saturday?
When Jesus died for us he set us free from under all those commandments and said to live by those 2 rules and everything else would fall into place. We are no longer under the Jewish law. When he died he became the law, no more hundreds of laws to this and that. One of the laws of the Sabbath was to do no work and Js. said that if a mule (i think it was that animal) was to fall into a well would you not save it. the Jewish leaders considered that work so in other words they would let that mule die first. Jesus reprimanded them for that. Would you sit back and let an animal die on the Sabbath because there is "suppose" to be no work done on that day??
It was not a mule. It was an oxen in a ditch and if we are to take him as an example he died on Friday RESTED on Saturday and rose on Sunday. I don't consider caring for animals work.

I think the definition of work is labor. Even cooking Sunday dinner would be work for a chef. But my grandmother loved cooking. It was fun to her.I think "work" means something you dont enjoy or look forward to doing.

Ok, sorry wrong animal. I didnt have time to look it up. Samething applies. I dont consider helping an animal work either BUT the Jews did and it was there law and they were calling the shots and questioning Js. and his motives. Our def. and theres is a differnet story. The way we "think" and they way they did is like comparing apples to oranges. They (Jews) did everything they could to stumble Js. and try to play on his words. BTW, I consider making dinner, WORK!! LOL I guess cause I "hate" to cook, lol. Christine
quote: No arguement here chris 1. I find your post/comments very uplifting. You seem to be well versed in the bible.
Thank you TT. I wish I was well versed. I am not though. Not like I should be and not like other JW's. I am not a study freak. Thats something that stands out with JW's, they are bible study freaks. (freak here is used in a good way.) I hate to study and I try to apply myself. I have a little brown book called the reasoning book that I get a lot of my info from. I had to scramble this morning but I like that, it keeps me on my toes, lol. Thanks for the compliment though. It made my day!

Keep up the good work. Most of my family are JW's. I am Baptist. I am kind of a loner and study the bible myself. Too many want to judge everything you do for me to be a people person.
A BEER GUZZLING, JACK DANIELS DRINKING BACKSLIDING CHRISTIAN, THAT BE TOMTOM!
How awesome is that?? Too cool. Where are they from? I am here in Cincinnati area but moved here from Memphis. And raised in Arkansas. Anyone near me or was?? Disregard the offer on the Revalation book on the other post of yours, lol. I guess you have access to it all, lol. Shucks...I love sending people things, especially that bright red pretty book. It's an eye cather!!

So TT, it's YOU we're trying to beat to the restaurants on Sundays after church.
That's our running joke. When it's decided by a group of people to meet for Sunday lunch somewhere, we gather our things quickly and say, "Let's go, gotta beat the Baptists!" LOL

Not that it makes a huge difference, but it's the parable of the lost SHEEP. It can be found in Matthew 12:9-13. It's about the man with the withered hand.

Man do I know what you mean. We usually have party of 8-16 that goes out to eat every Sunday. So I can imagine that someone else says we got to go to beat the JW's LOL. Only place that can accomadate all of us is Olive Garden (my fave) or Bob evans. Everywhere is too small. And we have to drive just to get to these places. In our small town there is nothing to go to!! Boring little rinky dink town. uggggg!!!

Please remember that there are more religions in the world than just your own. I assume you are indicating jesus as the 'savior'. The majority of the world does not believe that.
