I just thought I might add some. No one ever seemed interested in recipes before.
This recipe I have made two different ways. The first version, I use tomato soup. The second version, just substitute the tomato soup for mushroom soup. Gives it a totally different flavor, but both are equally good.
Mix hamb. with rice and egg, salt and pepper to taste. Make into meatballs, whatever size you like. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 til they are turning brown. They don't have to be completely done because they will continue cooking in the soup. In the meantime, saute the onion in some oil until translucent. Drain onto paper towel. Put onion into large pot or deep skillet, add soup and a little water...between 1/2 can and 1 can (soup can), til it looks saucy enough. Add meatballs, cover and cook on medium heat until thickened.
Great to serve with any vegetable or salad as a side dish. And easy to make. Leftovers store well and can even be frozen.
Is there one main recipe thread or do we each start our own here? I have several recipes that I do not mind sharing, but I am not sure where to post them. Advice would be a godsend.
