I posted yesterday on a thread about teas, and thought since tea is so near and dear to my heart, it deserved a thread of it's own. Big Grin

So, I'm in a rut - I drink green tea straight up - no sugar, lemon or honey - but I am wondering what kind of teas you all drink, and if you have any special concoctions you make with it.

I love all sorts of tea LL. But my family is from the south so you will always find sweet tea in our fridge. I place 6 tea bags in my coffee pot(10 cup) filled with water. Add 3/4 cup of sugar(while the tea is hot)very important..Pour in quart fruit jars and refridge..YUMMY Wink

I drink green tea too, the black tea tastes bitter to me. LL, you might want to try the Lipton Green Tea Collection. It comes in a lot of differant flavors, mixed berry, honey, passionfruit, mint, lemon. I like the variety pack.

( I do not know why I come up guest, I am logged in)

Quick question on this - it sounds wonderful - what type of tea do you use - can you use any flavor? What do you recommend?

Yuuummm, I love tea as well! I really like the green tea made by Arizona. It may be flavored with honey, but I am not sure. I also like to make sun tea. I just put the tea bags in my tea pitcher, and let it sit outside all day in the sun. I used to always add sugar to it, but have been drinking it without sugar.

There is this store in one of our malls here that sells coffee and tea. They have an orange cinnamon tea, and it is to die for!

I drink peppermint tea. I add honey and milk sometimes, other times some sugar. It's really good when made like iced tea with fresh mint leaves from the garden(that has sugar in it). Wow, that is some really really good tea!

My recipe for exceptional iced tea:

To make quick tea, place 5 tea bags and 1 quart of water in a 2-quart Pyrex measuring cup. Cover and microwave on high power until very steamy (8 to 10 minutes), and then let steep for 3 minutes. Remove the bags, sweeten with sugar if you like, add 3 cups of ice and serve.

My girlfriend likes to make mint Ice Tea. I can drink it every once in a while. But I like my good old fashion Lipton tea bags.

I need to check that out - I heard white tea is being used in cosmetics and facial creams now - it is apparently a good skin tightener. Smile
