I had a small mini tiny little bitty green house thing going at one time. I took it outside to get shine and heat one day, and then it got knocked over and spilled all over. That was the end of my garden.
I also enjoy container gardening. Last fall I planted a bunch of daffodils and grape hyacinth. I love the colors of the two flowers together. I mixed them. When I first bought my home, I planted lambs ear. That is my favorite!! Each year it gets bigger and more beautiful. I also have peonies. I started a vegetable garden last year also. I had two tomato plants and they didn't go very good at all. I think I got a total of 3 tomatoes the whole season. I had a butt load of onions though!! This year I want to plant strawberries!!
I got my best tomatoes using rabbit manure as fertilizer and a lot of water. I'm still not used to the growing season here. I just can't get in gear to plant in February to harvest in May - I'm used to planting in May and harvesting in September - and having to work around the frosts.

Really?! I don't know if I could handle working with that stuff though!!
That's why they make gloves. Rabbit manure isn't too bad - it comes pelleted, and doesn't smell too rank unless it's wet. Goat manure works well, too, and is also pelleted. The goat is a ruminant so weed seeds aren't carried through the digestive tract - they get digested. [Less weeding].
I like making raised beds with either railroad ties or landescaping lumber - have to watch foe arsenic treated stuff thjough. Then I can fill it with the mix I want.

I used horse manure and grew great tomatoes one year. Those tomatoes never made tomatoes until the fall and then they made hundreds of tomatoes. Don't know if it had anything to do with the manure or not.

In this part of the country - right about now is when you should be setting up the garden, the outside raised beds, and/or containers. Most of the hardy stuff can go in the beginning of February.
