So who is going to get to vote?
Are you going to be the judge?
If so, what's your favorite food? Wink

Hmmm.. thats a good point. Someone will ultimately have to taste the goods.

I suppose I should have thought of that first.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

I have lots of ideas....

Ohh, you are talking about the recipe contest. Wink

Well....first we have to get people to participate. I don't see a lot of people posting here. Maybe a little incentive perhaps?
Something for them if they win the contest? I don't know what--it's your contest, so you have to decide. Just remember I am always here to help however I can. Smile

By the way, are you going to tell me your favortie food or favorite type of food?

The only other thought I had is that sometimes it's easier if you pick a category. I don't know what you might think of that.
you could either categorize the recipes or people could enter in each category or whatever.

Like this:
    Desserts
    Main Dishes
    Vegetarian
    Vegetables
    Fish/Seafood
    Salads
    Soups

I don't know. Just trying to make it easier somehow. I would really like to see this work. I like cooking and recipes. Do you cook, Mod?

I have an idea. Let's you and I set up a test kitchen and we'll try out each recipe submitted and then decide who wins. Smile
Now, do you know how to cook or am I going to have to teach you?

WEll, I see you got 100% cooperation on this thread as well, Mod. Maybe you should make it interesting. Or maybe you should be serious once in a while. Wink

I have tons of recipes and I am a pretty good cook. It doesn't look like anyone else on here is much into cooking except maybe "the chef" which I haven't seen around in a while.
If i'm the only contestest, that doesn't seem fair, does it?

Here's a yummy! Mix an 8oz of cream cheese with a jar of marshmellow creme and it makes an awesome apple and other fruit dip. I tend to just eat it plain. It's good stuff.

I do that also, but I use strawberry cream cheese. If you are dieting, you can also use the reduced fat cream cheese.

One of my favorites is hashbrown casserole...

1 bag of hashbrowns
1 bag of cheddar cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup (you may use cream of chicken if you don't like mushrooms)
2 tablespoons butter
3 chopped green onions (optional)

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix all of the above together, but only use half of the cheese. Grease baking dish, and put mixture into the dish.
Bake until top is golden brown, then add the remaining cheese to the top of the casserole. Bake until cheese is melted.

Anyone ever had poor man's steak?

It's quite good. If you want the recipe, let me know and I can post it.

Not too many cooks on this forum, I guess. Confused
