Everyone in horses knows that you can lame a horse quicker than anything by putting shoes on yourself. I agree with this. But I also know that "other" farriers who are "schooled" have a monoply with the race tracks and purposley lame horses for a crack at the pot. Although it will never be proven. I want to know everything about the horse I'm on at that speed. I've been doing my thing for a long time before this BS forum. The only time I call in a farrier is for "correctional" shoes, such as a club foot or serious founder. To each his own. OOOhhhh and before you flip the sh*t lips again... I do my OWN horses not the boarders. Make note.
Have you completed a farrier school? I've been doing this long enough to know what is right and proven. I trust what I do. And I do my best.I was looking at a really nice one in Georgia, but I couldn't leave Chris for 6 weeks.
No one who is anybody would let a farrier work on their horse without the farrier being certified. You certainly wouldn't do it yourself. Well, I do.
Did you go to school to be a "breeder"? Did you go to school to learn how to cook? Hummmmmm ..... what about mowing the grass? No, wait, how about my 3500 cummins turbo with a gooseneck 4 horse, no school there either although I'd never lend it out to anyone. So, zip your lip. And get out and do something for yourself for once. GET AN EDUCATION.Melissa.
