First car was a 1972 Cadillac Eldorado

Looked like this but with a hardtop

When I would pull out of the driveway, the back underside would scrape the curb, and sparks would fly. Almost set my hair on fire.

Yes, but as I've always said, everything is relative.

I was 7 when I got my drivers license.

rotflol My first car was a Mercury Topaz, and my mother wrecked it, well the Suburban behind her did. Then I got a Ford Escort, that was a cool car, actually had that one for a while, LOL. Then my sister hit a deer with it. Didn't kill the deer, he ran off, but it killed the car. Then a Nissan Pathfinder, still have it, and a Nissan 300zx, my toy, which my partner traded in for a minivan, hello, I'm not a soccer mom, no offense, so I have to make due with looking cute and adorable in my Pathfinder. I want a Jeep Liberty or a Grand Cherokee Loredo, either that slate dark metallic grey color, or a purple-ish color.

Well my very first car was a 1954 or 1969 lol I cant remember, Red Mustang. It was sweet, but I dont fancy older cars... I never drove it because I opted to sell it to get another vehicle. My first official vehicle was a 2001 Chevy Blazer, it was beautiful, but when my father died, they took it away, now im looking for a new car....

My first car was a maroon station wagon. I cannot even remember the make and model of it, my pa bought it. It was a big-a$$ sucker! I remember I got in 2 accidents in that car.
My first accident ever was when I was driving my grandma and my sis Anna through town. It had been raining and the sun came out and there was so much sun-glare that I couldn't see the red light and ran right through it, hitting another car. That was when I first learned how invalueable sunglasses were for driving! haha! Like I shouldn't have known that before, eh!?
My second accident was when we were driving home from going Christmas shopping in Seaside, OR. It was a fun trip, but on the way home, I made the absolutely dumb mistake of coming back through the mountains. It was snowing pretty hard on us. I wasn't even going very fast, and we started to skid on the edge of a cliff, and darn nearly went over! Thank the LORD we didn't!

My first car was a silver 1984 cavalier. Her name was Bessie. She was a good car. I would go through all of the cars I have had, but I am currently on my 9th car (yes, I have only been driving for 11 years, and I get bored easily)and I doubt you all want to hear about all of them!!

I do Lab, I like cars, they are all special to me, LOL. Even my friends' cars, that come with funny stories Big Grin. My friend had a car that she paid less than a hundred dollars for, and it didn't even smell funky!. It eventually died when she forgot that it may need coolant. She never thought of checking the fluids, LOL. She totally fried that engine!
Lots of fun times in that car. We taught my little sister how to do donoughts(we used a different name for that manueaver). We jumped a few tracks. Did a bunch of speed testing, on gravel roads without killing ourselves! Went in the ditch backwards not while speed testing, is n't that weird?. But all in all good memories. Big Grin
I come from a small town, where cars are like your pets. We all know them, and their stories, and when one is sold, it is usually watched out for, kind of like a dog sold on contract, LOL.
Like my Escort, the kid who had it before me rolled it, and fixed it up, only to go in the ditch, then fixed it up, then hit a deer. Then I got it, everyone knew my car, so the older kids in high school were like a talking carfax report, LOL. I took great care of it, only to have my sister wreck it with a deer, LOL, deer is alive, and she is ok. Sad to say, Essie(close to your Bessie), is dead for good.
So, I like to hear about cars. I could go on about certain cars. Like my Dad bought me a truck for my 16th birthday(since my mother had wrecked the Topaz she gave me), an '87 Dodge Ram short box, old gold in color(ugly as hell, but fun to drive!). My mother wouldn't let me keep it, she said it was an eyesore, but I loved that truck. My father still has itBig Grin. And it still runs! So, since I couldn't even keep my own truck, I got the Escort.

My first car was a 1979 Dodge Omni hatchback, was a stick shift. Got it with a stick so my sisters and friends could NOT borrow it. Dad only taught me to drive a stick, not the other kids. It was ice blue and I love that car had it until was at a bar one night and somene rednecks decided the gay folks cars needed destroyed.. mine was torched. Frown.

The only dumb question is the one that goes UNASKED!!!!

Papet, did you live in the South? I guess there are "rednecks" all over though.... Frown
Drivers ed use to teach stick shift first when I was in school ... now they dont which I think is a shame. For emergency sake I think its a good thing to know.

Rotten, at the time this happened over 20 yrs ago.. I was from PA and visiting my sister in South Carolina. But I did move to SC for a while. I loved it down there. I think they no longer teach it because more cars are made with automatic than anything else.. plus a manual tranny does not help with trade in or resale value.. at least not here in my town.

Well my very first payed and bought for by me car is now a 2001 Chevrolet Prizm , I absolutely love it. It runs great. It has a stiff ride unfortunately. Everyone says it doesn't accelerate very well, but Im not a speed demon so Im content with it. Its a cute little car, its a cousin of the Toyota Corolla. It looks like and older Honda Civic. It has a cd player in it. Only 32,000 and I payed 5,999 for it. Its fuel efficient ( which is what we need now a days ). It gets about 35 city miles and 40 highway miles. It is a perfect college car. It fits me perfect.

My first car was a 1987 IROCZ for my graduation present. I had it one summer and I lend it to my girlfriend Nancy (bless her soul) and she wrecked it going to the store 3 miles away. She died in the hospital. I miss her more than I ever will the car.
